You can come to YO ACAP offices to get free condoms or get them from our street outreach workers. YO ACAP Safer Sex Kits include high quality LifeStyles latex condoms and REALITY Female (polyurethane) condoms and instructions. Often kits include multi colored and flavored lubricants. Some of the male condoms included are:

LifeStyles ribbed and lubricated
LifeStyles Rough Rider studded and lubricated
LifeStyles Tuxedo lubricated (black colored condoms)
LifeStyles lubricated with nonoxynol-9 spermicide

Use either male or female condoms only once, then throw them away. DO NOT store condoms in your wallet, purse or near heat. The heat will weaken the condom, and it may break while in use.

Use male condoms for vaginal, anal or oral sex.

Use female condoms for vaginal sex only.

Female condoms are intended to be worn by women during sex. Women can insert it themselves and have control over their own sexual protection. Like male condoms, female condoms can prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV infection.

When using a male condom...

 
• Use latex condoms only
• Put the condom on before you enter your partner
• Hold the tip of the condom to squeeze out the air.

This leaves some room for the semen when you come (ejaculate).

• Keep holding the tip of the condom. Unroll it onto your erect penis all the way to the base of your penis.
• After you come, hold the condom and pull out of your partner while your penis is still hard.
• Use a condom only once and then throw it away.

When using a female condom...

 
• Read the instructions carefully, because the product is new it will take some practice to become used to it.
• Find a comfortable position, similar to inserting a tampon. Hold the pouch with the open end hanging down.
• While holding the outside of the pouch, squeeze the inner ring with your thumb and middle finger.
• Place your index finger between the thumb and middle finger and keep squeezing the inner ring.
• Still squeezing the inner ring with your three fingers, spread the lips and insert the inner ring.
• Now push the inner ring and the pouch the rest of the way into the vagina with your index finger. Check to be sure the inner ring is past the pubic bone.
• Be sure that the outside ring lies around the outer lips as in the image to the right.
• After sex, squeeze and twist the outer ring to keep the sperm inside the pouch. Pull it out gently and throw it in the trash.
